hi all ,

can someone help me what this information below means?

Cisco Meraki products are built from the ground up for cloud management, and come out of the box with centralized management, layer 7 device and application visibility, real time web-based diagnostics, monitoring, reporting, and much, much more.

Kind of a big deal

It's one of the big advantages of Meraki. It was built from the ground up with cloud management in mind.

  • That means Meraki are heavily invested in that cloud management, needing to make it very powerful... It is. Basically it's a built in holistic view to configure, monitor and manage your network. Often this is a separate component.
  • That also means that the cloud computing resources are available to store and analyse the statistics, allowing features like Wireless Health, but also automatically allows features like IPS/IDS via Snort and malware protection via AMP (and always up-to-date).
  • Also thanks to the cloud connection you get access to easy automated updating of firmware making bugfixes and security updates easy to deploy.
  • Zero-touch deployment
  • A continuous stream of features added over time
  • ...

I could go on.

that it needs cloud connectivity. you manage all devices in one cloud portal. and that it analyses traffic not only the ip but also give you info what applications run in your network.
