Is it possible to backup the Meraki dashboard config ?

Hi All

Is it possible to backup the Meraki dashboard config ? does anyone do this? if so why and how do you do it? surely it is the responsibility of Meraki and a benefit of a saas solution?

cheers

This is something I am missing and which is very important. A backup in every other solution is also there to protect in case of a malicious insider. In the Meraki dashboard, if someone deletes a network or even the Org, there has to be a way to restore it from a backup.

Cloning Orgs might be a way, but I would not consider this a solution.

Cisco Networking App Marketplace might offer you 3rd party solutions but normally it's not necessary to do any backup configs.

why would someone realistically need to back it up if Meraki are responsible anyway ?

You can use APIs for this, because you need to have skills in programming and using APIs.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

I've seen the ability to "clone an existing network" (not organization) which still doesn't protect one if the organization is deleted.

Hey @CarlT , there's currently no native Meraki solution, but V-App, one of Meraki's preeminent API integration partners, does have something on the Cisco Marketplace that can meet these needs. Check it out here and let me know what you think!
