Hi All We have a Meraki MR36H that we want to plug a printer and pc into the wired ports, this should then mesh to the nearest AP. Some colleagues tried this yesterday and apparently it did not work. Should this functionality work? Many thanks

Hi, that page doesn't really answer my question and doesnt say if the local status page is available via the WAN port, say from my remote office, how would I access it remotely ? is there a specific url etc, or does it not work ? cheers

Hi All On the Meraki Firewall page, you can allow ip addresses in the Web (local status & configuration). What exactly is this for? does this mean I can reach the local page over the WAN? If so how do i do this? I have tried to access it and nothing happens Cheers

Hi Guys Is there a reason the MX appliance have a separate rulebase for VPN and it bypasses the main firewall rules?, it means in some cases we have to duplicate the rulebase etc and it can make it confusing. What is the thinking behind this? any plans to change in future?

Hi All We need to configure some firewall rules on some MX appliances, we have lots of objects on one of them. I would like to export all the objects from this org and import them into another. What is the easiest way of doing this? I am not an API person so if it does involve things like Python etc, please explain the steps in detail 🙂 Many thanks

Hi, we have also come across the same issue, using MR42s into 9200L switches, we have only ever used CDP, it shows on some and not on some others which is strange, as soon as we enable LLDP it springs into life. We never used to have this issue using CDP, the switches have not changed, so I assume maybe something in the Meraki back end? What would be the fix for this ? we do not want to enable LLDP everywhere.

Hi Guys With the internet load balancing on the Meraki Firewalls, if you set to use both links, does it just send 1 flow over one link and the next flow over the other link? I assume the connection will be natted behind which ever link it gets sent out of? Does it do a pretty good job of evening out the bandwidth of both links ? cheers

Hi All Can anyone tell me how the VRRP fails over on a Meraki MX device. 1.If we have say 3 vlans configured on each Meraki, if one of the vlans goes down on one of them, does this trigger a failover? if not why can't they have it like a normal Cisco switch so you can have individual gateways active on different vlans? 2.What if say we have 2 physical interfaces configured on each Meraki, both in different networks, in what scenario would a failover occur? as long as the Meraki sees at least one heartbeat on 1 network, does the primary always stay active? cheers

Hi All I would like to create a backup site to site vpn tunnel that kicks in if the primary goes down. Can my Meraki MX device do this? if so do you just replicate the tunnel? and can you set one as primary ? cheers

Hi If I do a packet capture, I can see that the wifi calls are encrypted with ESP port 4500, I see this go out and come back in on the AP, so it cannot be blocking. The strange thing is, my phone works fine on EE, also using ESP, on Voda it doesnt work, though if we move it to the other wireless concentrator, it works fine.

Hi When you say VPN hub, you mean the Meraki devices ? There are no rules on them as they are dedicated vpn concentrators, it does not let you do any firewall rules etc. What I will try is shutting one off to force all the traffic to one of them just in case vrrp is doing something funny ?

They both end up on the same LAN as each other so the firewall rules must be irrelevant in this case. How would traffic shaping help? cheers

Hi All We have an issue when wifi calling over our wifi. We have a Guest ssid, this tunnels back to a pair of mx450 concentrators and breaks out on the lan, then goes via the firewall to reach the internet. We cannot make any calls, the phone rings but no voice is heard. The strange thing is, we have 2 pairs of concentrators, of we change it so it tunnels back to our other pair, it seems to work fine. Any idea what this could be? Cheers

So are you saying it will log what traffic is being dropped ? if there are allow rules which are also being logged, how do we know in the sylog log that the traffic has been dropped ? also what events should you switch on under the syslog, security events or flow events?

Hi All I have 2 Meraki mx devices and 2 different ISP's, but with a /30 ip from each ISP only. My plan is to have ISP 1 into MX1 and ISP into MX2. Although I wont be able to so any sd wan routing this way, would it be OK from a HA standpoint and work correctly ? Cheers

Hi All I have a question around the antenna for the MR74 The MR74 has N type connectors at the top for a 2.4 and another for 5Ghz radio. If I want to use the MA-ANT-27 antenna with this can it only go into one of the radio's at any time? for example I can run it at 2.4 or 5 depending which radio its connected to? If I wanted both bands at once would I need to use the MR84 ? Cheers
