Device communication data usage

I have a strange question, how much data does a MX / MS/ MR device use to communicate with the dashboard on a daily basis i.e. logging, configuration changes etc.

Now I know this is hard to answer so its a question more for Meraki staff that may have a rough idea.

I just need a rough idea i.e. 50mb a day?

Depends… lol. Sorry couldn’t resist.

Generally I’d say it’s about 10-30MB a day per device from what I’ve seen.

Maybe others have a different view/opinion.

When you use a cellular router on WAN2, and there is no failover, so it is just link testing and whatever basic traffic goes to the Meraki cloud - it generates 100MB per month.

@PhilipDAth Its a MX68CW that will be connected only using cellular.

I'm going to say that it will generate 100MB per month if you do nothing.  From time to time firmware updates will get pushed as well.  Then add on whatever traffic you want.

I usually advise customers to get a minimum of a 1GB plan.  There are plenty of unlimited data plans available as well.
