No change in payloads, just seems to be as I stated whenever the device checks in it causes it to break.

So the issue I'm having with this is it seems like anytime the device check ins with meraki it breaks the auth. If I go into settings and accounts it shows the account isn't authenticated. When you click re-enter password you don't have to actually enter the password it just does it's thing and closes. To me this would feel like an issue on the meraki end? nothing is changed in the settings/profile so it's not re-installing that profile when it does a check in.

Is it possible to push ios/ipados updates and force them to install with no user interaction required? from what I've read it sounds like this is an apple limitation especially if the device has a passcode which is required to be entered prior to installing an update. I have a friend running JAMF and they sent me a screenshot where it looks like JAMF is able to push & install the update without user interaction assuming it's a supervised device.

Has anyone seen activation lock just randomly appear on a device? Just recently I've had a single ipad at random display the activation lock screen. It's happened 2 times within 2 months now. The user claims they aren't doing anything when this happens and the device hasn't been reset. We do have the allow activation lock box checked on our profile payload. The status for this device shows disabled.

Ugh...that was my fear. I'll have to get the device from the user & backup the existing data already on it before I can reset it. Unfortunately this is one of those cases of didn't know the user would be needing to do this with the device or else I would've assigned that DEP profile from the beginning.

hmm mine didn't do that. I was able to select the specific device (ipad) and change the setting profile. I confirmed it showed the new profile on the device & the status said pushed.

So we have 2 DEP profiles, the biggest difference is one allows pairing the other does not. I have an ipad that's already been setup & deployed to the end user problem is I now need to change the DEP settings profile to allow the user to pair the device with their machine. Can I simply change the DEP setting profile and it will push out to the device, or do I need to factory reset the device for the setting change to be deployed to the device?

after some searching around I found an app that will do the trick. https://www.kioskproapp.com/ looks like I would need to pay for the plus version to get this functionality but shoot that's a small price to pay for this kind of functionality. I must say it really is something that should be baked in features of kiosk mode if you ask me.

I'm wondering if there a way to set a schedule for an ios device in kiosk mode. In my case for example I only want the ipad to be on & stay on during business hours, all other times I want the device off (not powered off just screen shut off) I know in kiosk mode I can set the display to stay on constantly but that's not quite what I'm after here.

well I got the frankenstein adapters today and tried this, no luck still unable to get the device out of lost mode. After some additional tinkering and reading the only option is to reset the device...down that rabbit hole I proceed

here's what interesting to me about my device....it's also a cellular ipad. I confirmed the MDM can talk to it because I was able to force a reboot from meraki. so why the heck won't it clear the lost mode if it can communicate with it over cellular?

yeah I've seen the option of using the adapters. I'm debating that route, I don't have the adapters currently and hate to spend the money if they aren't going to work.

I have an ipad I had put into lost mode, I now have the Ipad back. I went into the dashboard and sent the request to disable lost mode, it says request enqueued. The ipad never clears out of lost mode (not on wifi, but does have cellular its on currently) so it has connectivity. I confirmed the ipad was communicating with Meraki by pushing a reboot request and watched the ipad successfully reboot. Any thoughts on why lost mode won't clear?
