thank you for your interest @John_on_API Ideally network connectivity information, so most of our ~300 MX devices have two VPNs, one to an on-prem Meraki Hub, one to a cloud non-Meraki peer (Azure). Centrally reporting their current and historical status, alongside other equipment, i.e. non Meraki switches etc, is proving very difficult. For example using Solarwinds, we would need two instances of Solarwinds, one in Azure, one on-Prem, in order to see the status of both VPNs.

I am currently trialling using the Syslog option. It is very frustrating that the information is all easily available and on view in the dashboard, for both Meraki and 3rd party VPNs. Yes you can configure it to send an email if a Meraki VPN goes down, but nothing for 3rd party VPNs, even crucial ones like Azure 😉 But when it come to monitoring the these vital stats with basic tooling used across the industry, the information is not attainable for the simple minded. Meraki has made corporate networking SO MUCH easier to manage, in SO MANY ways. Monitoring is not one of them.

Thanks Ajit. That is over 4 years old, and still does not really answer the question, as its all theoretical. I am no tech genius, so I could waste weeks trying to make this work. Has anybody succeeded?

Meraki support have confirmed that DDNS is part of the dashboard comms, so I will block that.

Due to Azure vWAN not responding well to two Meraki networks using the same IP (via FQDN), I need to have a fool proof way of stopping anyone in our IT department, accidentally or intentionally, 'daisy chaining' Meraki networks, which results in both MX's DDNS using the same internet IP. I was hoping there would be a simple firewall rule I could using to stop any daisy chained MX from registering with DDNS, and hence resulting in stopping two DDNS addresses from two networks having the same IP. Any help or advice appreciated, thank you.

I need to retrieve all the DNS names registered against our 200+ network. I am unable to find an API that will retrieve that information. Any help appreciated. For example for one of our networks the Public Domain Name is like: site-a-mndqlkbpkr.dynamic-m.com
