@MikeFromHAVEN I would force the issue then. I'm not sure why they're saying a fan that isn't operating is okay. By the time the switch throws a temp alert, it's too late. I had multiple already dead at that point.

@MikeFromHAVEN If the fan is not operating then the switch absolutely needs replaced. I'd recommend calling Support and requesting an RMA ASAP.

@MikeFromHAVEN I would recommend replacing any switch that isn't running the fan at very close to full speed. If you have any that are cycling between slow/fast, I've seen that become a failure within a week or so.

@MiBob You may need to make the registry change found here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/926179/how-to-configure-an-l2tp-ipsec-server-behind-a-nat-t-device-in-windows

@Squuiid @MarcoS Agreed! This is really great to see how well prepared Meraki was for this.

@ModulusJoe Was Support suggesting that moving to 24.11 wasn't enough and that disabling 802.11r is ALSO required?

@ShaneMartin Are you sure about the MS225-24 (non-PoE) being fanless? I'm pretty sure all of the MS225's have a single blower style fan that is quite loud as others have said. They are also essentially not speed variable and run at ~80% speed all the time.

@Mr_IT_Guy I think routing not working is listed as a known issue for 9.27 now. It's been fine for me on MS350's though for both local interfaces and OSPF.

@pbrischetto We also had similar issues when using cross-stack LACP uplinks until 9.27.

@bholmes12 9.27 seems to be much better at recovering from this issue. While in the past I had to reboot stacks where they were reporting incorrect membership after power outages, on 9.27 this alert has been resolving itself or not happening at all.

As a followup from my original post mentioning 9.27 - I now have three buildings running 9.27 and it's been fantastic. Easily the best MS firmware I've used so far. Stacks are actually behaving correctly for the first time ever, including stacks with uplinks spread across switches.

I've been requesting this for a while now. Clearly not a priority for the MX team unfortunately.

Two things: are all of your AP's in one big Dashboard network? What do your switch port configs look like for the AP's?

We also saw this with an MV21 in the US that is mounted about 1' above a light. Seemed to not be as noticeable after adjusting the focus a bit, but it's still there at times.

If you're distributing enterprise apps, then you need to either have the individual devices included in the provision profile, or sign them with the enterprise distribution cert which will allow install on any device.

You don't need to use the Enterprise dev account with the devices for SM to work. That's only for use with enterprise app deployment/development. You also don't need to use Apple Configurator. SM works on its own. If you are using VPP, is your server token expired? This is found on the Organization -> MDM page under "Apple VPP Managed Distribution".

Stacks dropping their uplink (and then doing absurd things afterwards) is a well known issue on the MS team from what I've gathered. The uplink being dropped is specifically called out as a bug fix beginning with firmware version 9.27 which was just released.

Given the way Meraki products are administered, I certainly get the argument for one big cert. The problem with that (as I think anyone with CMNO/CMNA would know) is that it doesn't allow for a ton of depth to the cert. @BradB I'd be very interested in certs for each product line that go into much more depth than CMNO did. I did really like the time and format of CMNO, so shooting for that with these other certs would be great. Given the simplicity of even the most complex deployments, I don't think this would be impossible. Self paced/self administered would be really, really nice as well.

How do I configure alerts in a Meraki network? Is there a way to email different people for different events?

Wow - I've rarely had issues with inaccurate client types. Most of my networks with MXen are run as IP tracking so I expect the device types to be wrong or blank, but for those where I have a full stack I haven't noticed these things. Dell iPod is pretty great though.
