Hi! I'm new to the Meraki API but I've been using many other API's before, so I believe I have a fair knowledge on how these should work. Currently I'm having these two problems - I hope someone could help me out. Problem 1: The v1 documenatation seems to be very narrow or I'm looking at the wrong place. For starters, I can't find this functionality anywhere in the v1 documentation: https://developer.cisco.com/meraki/api/#!get-network-sm-devices. Nevertheless I managed to get this list via v0, so no biggie. Problem 2: This one I'm able to run this (https://developer.cisco.com/meraki/api/#!get-network-sm-connectivity) in v0, but the lastSeenAt timestamps are either wrong or I'm interpreting them wrong. I have a bunch of devices and when I check the conncetivity stats, the latest lastSeenAt timestamps might be many hours or even days in the past. firstSeenAt timestamps are always 0.0. Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem here? I'm trying to have a almost real-time logging of device connectivity (because Dashboard only show 24h in the past). I'd really appreciate some help here. Thanks!

I have a new avatar! During work I access my nets via TCP over IP. During free time I access my nets via boat over lake.

Imagine that a network cable would actually be a gigantic tunnel. Imagine that all network traffic going thru that cable (or tunnel) would be a bunch of little people carrying messages from one side of the cable to the other side. Without VLAN, all the little people would see each others while traveling thru the tunnel, thus potentially having the risk that someone might see their message. With VLAN the tunnel is full of smaller tunnels (or corridors) which each messenger has to go thru. While in this smaller tunnel, there's no visibility to the other guys messages, because they're all in separate tunnels (unless another message is being carried in the same tunnel in purpose. At the end of the tunnel (or both ends) some tunnels might merge into one and others might just lead to a completely different place. Magical, isn't it?

Thanks! Seems like the link doesn't work anymore. Is this still valid?

Even the API only allows access to sceenshots, which is kind of nice, but still a real show stopper for many of my customers. I expect a bunch of more sales after the API provides a live feed... if it ever does.

I remember the good old times when Meraki gave 100 free SM licenses to everyone. I do understand it’s not good business, but I also understand that they were a great way to sell the product to bigger organizations. When you aleeady had 100 devices connected, it was very unlikely to not buy the paid licenses when the need for the 101st license rose. Anyway back to the point: I believe a free trial doesn’t work for SM licenses. I would prefer to have 10 free licenses for 1-3 years than 100 licenses for 2 weeks. I believe this would be a more effective way to commit future customers in the SMB market. Anyone with me?
