Hello All, AT&T is installing a backup internet for us. It is a 50Mbps BU / Fiber S14. This requires an SFP port on the Meraki to connect it to. We are using an MX84 which I don't think allows SFP for WAN interfaces. What should we do? Any advice?

We are preparing all the accessories we require in order to install and interconnect the Meraki switches. We have cat 6e Ethernet cables. What fiber patch panels should we purchase? We are using single-mode fiber cables. What sort of fiber patch cables do we need? OS2 SM or OM3 or OM4? LC-LC or LC-SC or SC-SC? Simplex or duplex?

Just curious to know what happens when Meraki's air marshal contains a malicious SSID. We are planning to use it in our office. Will it disconnect the currently connected clients or only block others from connecting? because If it does disconnect, then we might lose important info. If it disconnects, will it disconnect users from the malicious SSID only or all other SSIDs?

Hi, I am new to using the Cisco Catalyst switches. Have used the Meraki switches for some time though. So recently, an old client has procured 3 C9300-48P-E Catalyst switches and wants them enabled for cloud monitoring via the Meraki dashboard/ or rather to onboard them to the dashboard. I am very green on this. Never interacted with the Cisco IOS-XE before. Will I need to have physical access to the switches to take them through this? Where should I start from? Do they need to do any pre-configurations on the switches? The bummer is we are in different countries and I can't physically access the switches and they don't have any IT literate staff with them. Hi Ucert, Thanks for your prompt response. Do you know if it's possible to combine 2 power supplies on the MS switches to ensure redundancy in case of an outage? I'm looking at having one power cable go directly to a switch from the main circuit and the second power cable go through a UPS.

We have an issue that we have been arguing about with my peers on what information is shared between the MXs firewall in the High Availability Pair. We are torn between 2 choices, the spanning-tree state, and the stateful firewall database. Some say the Spanning tree state but I say the stateful firewall database and gave the below explanation, am I correct, or anyone who can suggest differently? Explanation: The MXs in a High Availability pair share the stateful firewall database, which is used to allow the firewall to retain information about its rules and the addresses on which it has been configured. The spanning-tree state is not shared between MXs because it changes as the network topology changes, and High Availability requires that the same topology be presented to both devices at all times.

Hi Ryan. Thanks for your response. We use Layer 3 HP switches and I have added VLAN 17 to the switch (which the Meraki AP MR46 is directly connected at the moment). The VLAN setting explicitly points to the local DHCP server. I am fine with removing VLAN tagging, for now, to see if that is the reason it is not working. I would have to change it to VLAN 0 right?

We need a separate wireless network for AV equipment from our standard internal wifi. This separate network will contain a few devices that need internet access, but most clients on it will only need to see each other, not go out. I have a single MR46 AP set up to broadcast an SSID specifically for this network but no clients can IP addresses from the AP. The AP is currently set in bridged mode and should be getting IPs from our local DHCP server, but that is not happening even though everything looks set from what I can tell. (Another angle: when set in NAT mode, the Meraki APs automatically give out a 10 address. Is there a way we can possibly change the IP ranges that the Meraki AP gives to match the IP scheme of our AV network? Thanks for any help you can provide.
