I know how to do that, but it is asinine. What a waste of time for admins. There should be a way to copy more than one IP address at a time.

I'm not familiar with using API calls, where would I find more information about that? And yes, Zoom is crazy. Different IPs for all their services. Some overlap, but you can see their list here. https://bityl.co/KEr5

So we have to create a policy object for each IP address? That seems a bit cumbersome. There should be an easier way to copy multiple IP addresses into the firewall.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I use to be able to copy a comma separated list of IP addresses into the firewall rules. Now it seems that option isn't available anymore. Did they make a change on one of the firmware updates, or is there another way to do this? I've got to setup the Zoom Phone firewall requirements and they have like 300 IP addresses you have to allow.

Not sure if it is related, but we updated all our MX devices to 18.107.2 two weeks ago, and I fought with support for a week about the fact that we were dropping the VPN tunnels between all our sites and our data center every 2hrs for about 50 sec, so it was disconnecting all our users from their terminal sessions. we ended up rolling back to 17.x on our Data Center MX devices and the issue went away.

Ongoing issue. We've had issues with it since they introduced NBAR. They keep telling us they are going to fix it, but we've tried all the firmware updates currently available and still have the problem. Sadly, the only way to fix it that I've found so far is to allow the P2P category of your application and hope that nothing malicious takes advantage of it.

We once spent big money to move our company to a new and exciting web based, security appliance, and after many years of using this product, we invested more money in adding their Wireless Access Points and Switches. Then one afternoon said company issued a firmware update that has wreaked everything, and we have to allow unsecure traffic to pass our firewall so that we can get approved traffic. We've opened ticket after ticket and the company keeps telling us that the issue will be resolved soon, or you have to upgrade your production environment to the newest stable version so we can troubleshoot your problem. If only they had an allow feature for the traffic they keep blocking with as false positives.

They told me I needed to deny all the Layer 7 "gaming" category devices individually except for Xbox Live. That doesn't sound like a very good solution to me.

I haven't tried that, but I'll give it a go. It didn't seem to help with the other NBAR issue I was having, so not sure if it will for this either. Also, the Allow List states that it is for specific URLs, so don't know if it will allow IPs.

I'm having more issues with 16.16 on my MX65. We have a layer 3 rule to allow UDP traffic on port 53 to any. My MX is blocking my Umbrella devices from talking to 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222 reporting them as Xbox Live. Short of allowing all gaming, which I will not do, how do I fix this? Any thoughts. The NBAR crap that Meraki introduced in 16.x is causing nothing but headaches for me.

We've tried 16.16.4 and 16.16.5 we get a very similar experience. Apps work until they don't. I found that I had to set all the p2p rules separately and allow the ones that Meraki were saying were NBAR issues. I'm hoping that the 17.x firmware fixes all of this.

I'm a reader, not much of a writer. I always find it helpful to search the community for issues that I run across. I was one of the early adopters when they were giving out free equipment for attending their online demos. I got an MX, MS and MR that way. I used that equipment in the office for proof of concept testing, and once I showed the boss, we started use more of it. I move that equipment to my home and I renewed the 3 year license they gave away with those a couple of times for before just found it wasn't worth the cost for a home network. I also attended the free training that Meraki offered to get your CMNO. I tried and tried to get access to the next class that they offered in person in San Francisco, but could never make it work. This community is very helpful for finding solutions and bouncing ideas off each other, and I love that occasionally we get responses from the support teams themselves. I hope this group continues to grow and share. Happy Birthday Meraki Community! And just for fun, @PhilipDAth

Comcast recently upgraded our cable modem to the CBR-T and since then we seem to have issue with failover. When we fail over from our primary to a back up nothing works and when we fail back any traffic bound for the WAN 2 (our cable modem) seems to time out. I don't know how the previous device was configured, but we have a /28 network for this with our MX handling all the traffic. I'm wondering if the new cable modem isn't responding correctly to failover. Can you put these modems in bridge mode so we don't need anything from Comcast but the handoff. I love our Comcast Metro Ethernet, but the modem is giving me headaches.

This. I had it running on one of our networks for 2 weeks with no issues. So I upgraded the next two offices and then the next two and then all of the sudden, wham... everyone is reporting issues.

Thank you! I've been banging my head against the wall for 4 days now. I've disable the layer 7 rule to prove to my boss that this is the issue. I've opened a case with Support and hope that I'll get whatever work around you have as well.
