In the mid-90's I was in my first job in networking, it was second-line with network monitoring (24/7) and the occasional field trip. The latter involved some installation abut also the odd troubleshooting using The "Sniffer Pro" from Network General on ethernet and token-ring. This software had the odd "feature" that after you had recorded the traffic and "Saved it" you also had to "Print it" so that it was physically stored on the hard-drive!
