A bunch of MX68W's and a MX65W were affected. We don't have any MX64W's running around. We did open a ticket, and they wanted us to do live packet captures while on the phone with support, and I never got around to doing that. It was quicker to just add a MR to those production networks, and then upgrade to the 17.x firmware.

We had something similar to this issue. Our corp SSID uses Radius auth from Windows 2016 NPS servers in our data centers, and for some reason, ONLY the MX's with wifi were failing when clients connected to the corp SSID. Since the NPS servers were in the data center, the Radius requests went over the AutoVPN. We switched those networks to using a MR instead of a MX with wifi, and we had no issue after that. We were hoping a firmware update would fix the issue, but switching to a MR for wifi was the only solution.

The "getNetworkWirelessSsid" command pulls all the info and attributes from the SSID on that network. And if try to add the various other PSK attributes, I still get the same error. Just very odd that the Python API is only letting me update the SSID name and status, and no other attributes or properties.

API Call - Update-the-attributes-of-an-mr-ssid So, I'm playing around with the API for updating a SSID. Using Python 3.9.4 and the latest Meraki module version. The bottom API call works fine, with just changing the SSID name and if the SSID is enabled or not. BUT, when I try to update other attributes (in the top API call), I get errors about syntax. Am I missing something here? And help would be appreciated.

We ran into this exact same Radius failure issue with the 17.10.2 firmware (and still with the 17.10.4 patch). We have a couple of branch locations using the MX wifi and Radius over the AutoVPN to a data center. We rolled those MX's back to 16.16.8. For those couple of MX's at those branch offices, since no patch is forthcoming and we want to update the MX's, we've shipped them an AP to use instead of the built-in MX wifi. We opened a ticket with Meraki ourselves just to keep it on Meraki's radar.

I can confirm the "Fixed an issue that resulted in wireless clients experiencing degraded performance for HTTP and HTTPS traffic when content filtering was enabled." worked on a network using a MX68W for firewall/wifi. They were complaining of slow wifi speeds off the MX since being upgraded to 17.10.2 a month ago, and this patch fixed their complaints on wifi speeds.

Anyone have any good ideas for finding and tracking non-Meraki switches that someone (i.e., someone not on the network team) might plug into a network that is supposed to be full stack Meraki? You know, those times when a third party vendor (like a security or AV installer) or a user in an office might plug in a cheapo switch to add more ports to a spot in the office, but not tell anyone in IT? Just looking for ideas that others might have come up with, or if there is some Meraki feature I haven't thought of yet....

You are right...I talked to a Meraki rep a while ago, and using a Syslog setup is the only way to see hits on a deny rule.

I hope this year to finally get that CCNA I've kept putting off. Then hopefully quickly follow up with the Meraki certification... I'm also hoping to take my Python API scripting up to another level....daily backups of settings/configs across all networks in multiple orgs, checking for standard configs on networks across an org, single script to setup new networks and devices....

Meraki Support told me the same thing...impossible to do that kind of routing with a simple Hub-Spoke setup. Yeah, I have a few solutions brewing. The remote MX in the offsite network (if they would even allow that), setup a limited number of Spoke networks as Peers to the same IPSec tunnel, or setup the tunnel on another router or MX on the same LAN subnet as the Hub MX and use static routes to advertise it.

So, basically, another device like an ASA has to be doing the IPSec tunnel, and then a static route on the Hub MX would be then be advertised in the Auto VPN? Could it be another MX in VPN Concentrator mode?

Question about third party VPN remote subnet availability.... My org is a hub-spoke setup....the data center is the hub for the Auto-VPN setup, and all the branch offices are the spokes. We do split tunnel on the Auto VPN, so only those advertised subnets on the Auto VPN go over the S2S VPN, and clients use the local internet connection for everything else. We are setting up a third party IPSec VPN to an offsite network that is hosting some servers. We are going to peer the Hub MX in the data center to this IPSec tunnel. The clients in the various Spoke networks will need access to the servers being hosted on the remote side of this IPSec tunnel. Question...how do we advertise the remote network's subnet to the Spoke networks over the Auto VPN, so that clients in the Spoke networks can connect to the servers in the remote network on the other side of the IPSec VPN tunnel? Is that possible with only the Hub MX peering this connection?

We are looking at different naming styles, and, like you, we are thinking of moving away from the names with "two digit codes" buried in them, that only make sense if you know what you are looking at. We are also looking at making the device names much more readable and descriptive. It isn't like there is a real limit on the length of the name, and we are looking at where we'd use the names and who would need to read the names of the devices. I'm thinking of all the various email alerts and dashboard pages that show the description of the device (wireless health reports, client connection pages, drop-down menus, etc...).

We are looking into standardizing our device names (MS, MR, MX, switch stacks) across our global orgs.... Asking for any advice or examples folks can give me.... Each Meraki network is a physical location....outside of NA, we might have networks in multiple cities in a country, and in NA, we might have networks in multiple cities in a state (sometimes multiple offices in a single large city). I'm thinking we should be descriptive in naming each device, for readability purposes when looking for a device in drop-downs or reports in the Dashboard and for networks with a large number of devices. How do you all name your devices? And how do you use Device Tags and the Device Notes field to add additional info that isn't in the name of the device? What do you all think? Examples and any advice would be very helpful.

Is this setting for only allowing certain public IPs to ping the MX through the WAN, or does this setting control internal LAN IPs that can ping the MX as well, like those local to the network or over the S2S VPN?

For my purposes right now, Network tags. But, according to that link above, there should be this: Organization > Configure > Manage Tags But I don't see that in my Dashboard. And I don't see how I can delete a network Tag that is no longer used.
