Maybe a little bit off topic, but i am curious about what you guys use in your IT department. How many accesspoints, mx and switches devices are or can be implemtend and/or managed by a single network enigneer? With a change rate of around 100 changes a day.

Yes we have multiple stacks in the different datacenter rooms, so yes putting them in a seperate network would be a possability. That was my first option to but i hoped there was a different option 🤣

Can someone share some insights in how you guys make the firmware updates on switches in datacenters? With the release of the new staged updates features we are not able to upgrade switch stacks, switch by switch (i know that was not a supported way either). Cause stacks need to be upgraded at once now, this results in bringing down complete serverrooms. Maybe somebody has a good idea to overcome this.

Thats what i wanted to know indeed. I do know how to configure all settings and how to make it work. But as we have 30 remote locations where some locations with remote connections that are not always reliable. If already authenticated ports keep their connection its fine, but if radius testing makes these ports re-authenticate afer 5 minutes it will cause problems.

Yes. Ports that are not already authenticates, i can inmagine these will fallback to the guest vlan as they dont have any posibility to do authentication in any way.

So if you want to make sure that clients dont fall back to a guest vlan, when sd-wan/mpls connectivity is lost, you want to setup a cisco ise appliance on each location? That will be a pretty expensive setup right?

Somehow few people can give me clarity on this hence this post. What happens to the the clients sitting on a Meraki switch port that are already authenticated, won't be Meraki specifically but after all we are in a Meraki forum, if Cisco ISE is not available? Do all clients sitting on these authenticated ports then lose their connection to the network? Do they fall back to the guest vlan?

I would recomment to the create the vlans on the ms425 and use dedicated servers, in failover, for dhcp handling. And make sure the ms425 are stacked to make sure you dont have any direct downtime if something happens to one of the switches.

As a production company we have may external suppliers who deliver machines or software to support our product processes. Many of these suppliers will always try to bring their own router to be able to support the machine or software. Often these machines or software also need to exchange data with internal machines or software. I need your opnion here. How do you handle situations like this? What kind of policy you have here. And what is the best solution in these situations? Place them behind a separate mx for each supplier?

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone else experienced the same problems or maybe has found a solution. A couple of months ago we have setup a location with new MR36 and MR76 accesspoints. In this network an exteral supplier has implemented a VOIP solution from the brand Mitel with 5634 of 5624 Wifi handsets. Since the implementation we have problems with the WiFi handsets. From an airtrace we found out that the AP's keep sending data to the Wifi handsets although they are in powersafe mode. Mitel is stating it is caused due to the fact that the issue is in U-APSD is not working propperly on Meraki side.

Ok thanks. Did somebody also experience the below problem: - SAML certificate fingerprint is invalid. It should be a colon-delimited hex string. - Saml idps is invalid I know for sure the fingerprint is correct, it's in capital letters and seperated by colon.

Is it possible to first, enable sso and still use the current users that allready have been created as administrator? And second, is there a manual how to configure SAML SSO with Microsoft ADFS?
