@cmr The stack of 8 is the core for the particular building. There are three other switches (two switch stack and a single) that mLAG off of this stack and this stack routes upstream to the DC for global vlans and internet. Splitting the stacks is less than ideal, but I supposed I could aggregate ports on the network modules between the two smaller stacks for linking. My gut is telling me that IOS-XE would fix it, but I'm not willing to put a beta firmware into production. Thanks for the insight!

Has anyone experienced issues with C9300X-48HX-M switches running CS17.2.1.1 in an 8 switch stack losing connectivity to the cloud? I restarted a stack that I have pre-staged right now and it won't reconnect to the cloud. While working with support, they said that it's a known issue with 8 switch stacks and that the best option is to split the stack into two, smaller stacks. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this behavior and if they've been told the same thing by support.

As others have pointed out, CWNA is not a Meraki certification. The study materials are provided by CWNP and the certification by Certitrek. I have my CWNA and the advice I would give you is purchase the study material. Better yet, if you're able to attend an in-person or virtual training with a CWNT certified trainer such as Tom Carpenter or Ferney Munoz; Or Phil Morgan with NC-Expert; Do it. Those guys are Wi-Fi gurus and you will get more from their class than you ever will by just reading the book. Be advised however, the exam is a beast. Unless you have an insane level of data retention by just reading a book, you need to prepare and taking a class is the best way to do it. When I took the class, the study material was included with the course fee. Best of luck!

If you're simply changing the VPN Mode from disabled to enabled, you shouldn't lose connectivity with the device.

I have the C9300X-NM-8Y module. That supports SFP28 for 25G connections. The problem I'm having is that not even the copper ports are showing link lights. I've tested across all the switches in the stack I don't get link lights on any of them. It's almost like the stack hasn't fully booted, but it's been over three hours at this point.

Has anyone else run into sporadic issues with the C9300X? Specifically the C9300X-48HX. We recently purchased 11 of these. Configured in a stack of 8, a stack of 2 and a standalone switch. I had to RMA one because two of the four switch banks were installed upside down. I've since had to RMA two of the C9300X-NM-8Y modules because multiple ports weren't working. Now, I'm encountering an issue where my stack of 8 won't connect to the cloud. The problem is that the port the uplink is connected to isn't coming up. No link lights on the port. I tried other switches in the stack and get the same behavior, no link lights. I've confirmed that the port is good and links by connecting my laptop. At this point, I'm starting to get disheartened by this model and it's inconsistent behavior. Has anyone else experienced similar issues with this model?

Is the Z4C capable of operating only on cellular? We have a use case where we need to place connectivity in a location that only has cellular connectivity.

I've installed the SRC firmware on two different orgs. One with a MX68 and another with a MX95 and can confirm that this resolved the issue. I now have green check marks, the 'unable to connect to domain controller' entries in the logs and the server-side log entries have disappeared. While I'm happy that the issue is resolved, I am a bit disheartened that it took Meraki this long to fix it.

I had email dialogue with support back in November that seemed promising, but then they replied back and basically said "it's with the developers now" I just re-opened the ticket to see if there's an update available, but I'm not optimistic.

While it's not as robust as VLAN's with ACL's at the switch level, there is a setting that will prevent wireless clients from accessing the LAN. Wireless -> Configure -> Firewall & Traffic Shaping. From there, choose your SSID on the drop-down. Under the heading of Block IPs and ports, you'll be able to change the layer 3 firewall rule policy to deny for access to local LAN.

VLAN Stands for Virtual Local Area Network. Think of it like this. A 24 port switch can be divided into 2 - 12 port switches. The first 12 ports can be on vlan 10 and the next 12 can be on vlan 20 and neither network knows of the other. In other words, imagine driving down the road and there's a wall between you and the car next to you.
