(Also, I couldn't decide if this should go in "Off the Stack" or "Community Announcements." It's a little too self-promotional for "Off the Stack" but not really a community announcement... anyway, here it is :-))

Huzzah! @Welles found MV Gnome within about 5 minutes on Friday — our small bearded friend was in this post from GeorgeB. Thank you, @Welles! Your very own MV gnome is flying your way to complete your collection (hopefully with less damage than last year).
But, it seems that MV Gnome wasn't content to sit around all weekend... I arrived this morning to a gnome-free windowsill.
All Blacks bear is lonely!
A few team members and I searched around the office, and we eventually found little MV in this bucket of odd-sized CMNA polo shirts:
Happily ensconced in polo shirts
I'm not really sure why he decided to snuggle up with the polo shirts — maybe he's looking for a more comfy home? I created a cozy nest for him on the windowsill, and I even turned him around so he can see the view.
A nest for a gnome
Then I headed to a meeting. And.... guess what? Upon my return, I found no gnome (though the nest is still there)! I'm guessing he's here on the community.
Just like last time, if you find him, reply to the post (within the Product and Technology Discussions) he's hiding in with "I FOUND THE GNOME!" The first to reply will get their own MV gnome as a token of appreciation for finding our small friend.
(And no, @Welles, you can't win twice 😛)
P.S. If you'd like to learn more about the MV Gnome and his brothers Switch, MR, and MX Gnome, take a look at this post.
P.P.S. Update December 17 @ 7pm Pacific: @Adoos found him! He was hiding in jared_f's comment on the the announcement about CMNA / CMNO badges (clever guy, he wasn't hiding in Product and Technology discussions like I said he was... sorry about that 😳)
P.P.P.S. Update December 17 @ 9pm Pacific: He's lost for the SECOND TIME TODAY! HELP!
P.P.P.P.S. Update December 17 @ 9:15pm Pacific - Found! Now I can rest easy. Good night!
P.P.P.P.P.S. Update December 18 @ 9:30am Pacific - Lost again!

Wow, that was fantastic! We were blown away by the 52 excellent entries to our SD-WAN Challenge. Thank you, everyone!!
And now, it's time to announce the winners. Drum roll.....
Congratulations to @mmistretta for his landslide win of the Community Choice prize, with 45 non-Meraki kudos! I believe that's a new record for kudos on a community challenge entry. Here's his winning entry.
And, the winner of the Meraki Choice prize, judged by a panel of experts here at Meraki on the basis of Creativity (40%), Accuracy (30%), and Completeness (30%) is.... @vicapelli! We loved @vicapelli's creative analogy and detailed response. Here it is!
🏆 🏆 CONGRATULATIONS!! 🏆 🏆
Stay tuned for an email from me to confirm where to send your Meraki mini-fridge!

As I mentioned yesterday, our new buddy MV gnome has seemed a bit restless lately.
So I wasn't TOO surprised that, when I got in to the office today, little MV was nowhere to be found.
I looked around for a while, but eventually gave up. Then... I got a ping from @GeorgeB:
I'm not really sure what he was doing on George's desk — perhaps he was hoping to learn the secrets of his own creation? Or maybe he just wanted the company of a small succulent & a stuffed husky? In any case, I returned him to his spot on the windowsill near my desk (from which he has a very nice view of the San Francisco Bay), but... now I can’t find him!
I have a feeling he has escaped into the digital realm here on the community.
If you find him lurking somewhere around here, please reply to the post that he's hiding in with "I FOUND THE GNOME!" — the first to reply will get their own MV gnome as a token of appreciation for finding our small friend.
Thanks for your help, ya'll!

Today, we have a most exciting announcement — MV Gnome has joined the gnome crew here at Meraki!
MV Gnome with MX, AP, and Switch
(For those of you who aren't familiar with Meraki gnomes, here's a quick history lesson: we've created gnomes to celebrate each of our main hardware product lines. Why? No idea, but they're pretty cute :-). AP Gnome (in blue) was the first, joining Meraki in 2014. Switch (yellow) and MX (purple) followed, allowing us to create an (almost) full-stack Gnome topology last year. Now, MV Gnome (pink) has joined to round out the portfolio!)
Our newest gnome friend has seemed happy, picnicking:
Gnome picnic! They seem to like the sweet treats
... and even partying:
Gnomes gone wild!
A few of you (including @Welles, no doubt?) may have noticed that MV Gnome also got to meet @jdsilva when he visited a couple weeks ago.
jdsilva meets MV, Switch, and CarolineS
But — this seems to be the time of year when gnomes get a little restless. Remember all of Switch’s antics last year?
I’ve found MV Gnome all over the office recently:
Contemplating coffee Situated with shuffleboard Troubleshooting a teleconference
Could all of this restlessness mean that he's going to escape to the community soon? Time will tell! 🧙🏻♂️
GNOME UPDATES!
Friday, Dec 14: MV Gnome was lost... and found again. Thanks to @Welles for finding him.
Monday, Dec 17: MV Gnome was lost AGAIN... and found, after a flurry of activity. Thanks to @Adoos for finding him!
Monday, Dec 17 (#2): Lost in my house - and then on the community!!. Thanks to @jdsilva, who found him rather quickly.
Tuesday, Dec 18: Lost again - and found! Thanks to @ChadWorthman for finding him!
Wednesday, Dec 19: Found on the printer... and then @BrechtSchamp found the gnome in this post about printers. Thanks, Brecht!
Wednesday, Dec 19: Gnomes, reunited. MERRY SWITCHMAS!

I am anew Network Administrator and I ma facing lots of challenges since the very start but I like challenges. I am working for the first time on Cisco Meraki MX84. I created a VPN tunnel and its working fine but I wanted to know if there is a way to create another VPN with different parameters on same Meraki for testing purposes.
Hi @Tazio4436 and welcome to the Meraki Community! Thanks for introducing yourself. I'd recommend you ask your VPN question over in the Security & SD-WAN board - it will get more eyeballs there.
Cheers!

@MacuserJim - ML, I love it! 😂 This model is the ML-Logo. Next we need an ML-MV. An ML-MX or ML-MR would probably be fairly boring (a white box made of white bricks....)

SD-WAN is a popular topic these days, but it can be difficult to explain to a layperson.
Your challenge this month is to describe SD-WAN in non-technical terms.
Imagine you had to explain the concept to a classroom of smart but non-technical high school students, or to an acquaintance at a cocktail party (clearly a raging party!). What's a real-world analogy you can use to describe what SD-WAN is and how it works?
We encourage you to use pictures or diagrams (or even video!?) to help your explanation come to life.
The winners will each receive a Meraki mini-fridge (picture below)!
How to enter
Submit your contest entry in a comment on this blog post before 11 a.m. PDT on Monday (December 10, 2018). This time around, entries won’t be made public until voting starts. After you submit your entry, you’ll see a message reading “Your post will appear as soon as it is approved.”
Update: This contest is over! Here's the announcement of the winners.
How to win
Voting begins when submissions close (at 11 a.m. PDT on Monday, December 10, 2018), and continues through the work week. Voting closes at 11 a.m. PDT on Friday, December 14, 2018.
Update: This contest is over! Here's the announcement of the winners.
We will be selecting 2 winners:
The Community Favorite — chosen by you, our Community members. Cast your vote by giving kudos ( ) to your favorite entries. The entry with the most kudos from community members who aren't Meraki employees will win!
The Meraki Favorite — a panel of experts here at Meraki will select the Meraki Favorite prize, judging entries on creativity, completeness, and accuracy.
Each winner will receive a Meraki mini-fridge!

Hi @MichelRueger -
I'm afraid there's not a Meraki Community app. The reference you found for "device ID" isn't relevant for us, sadly! Some communities powered by Lithium (our platform provider) have used the Lithium API to integrate into other mobile apps, and I believe that's what the "device ID" reference is about - but we haven't done that (maybe someday!).
Cheers! - Caroline

Ya'll are so good about reporting spammy posts. This morning I woke up to three "report abuse" emails about a single spam / phishing post. THANK YOU!
For those of you who don't know - if you see a post that's spammy or otherwise inappropriate (per the Community Guidelines), you can "Report Inappropriate Content" from the little three-dot menu in the upper right of the post (screenshot):
This sends an email to our moderation team members so that we can remove the post if needed.
Thanks to everyone who helps to keep this community spam-free!
