We have been working on a deployment of 2 MS210-8 as ISP passthrough switches to a pair of MXs . See Picture. The issue we face is that the MXs sometimes (not all the time only when there is a VPN tunnel change on the ASRs) go into Active Active mode. We are load balancing across both ISPs. The fix offered to us  is to connect the 2 MXs together. By my understanding this already achieve via ports 3 and 4 of the MXs (see the port descriptions). The ASRs see traffic across the IPsec tunnel from both ISPs but due to the ASR tunnels being in active/passive WAN1 being primary, I believe traffic being load balanced onto WAN2 is being ignored as that tunnel is idle. I have seen this design a lot lately due to the limitations of the carriers to provide more than 1 port.  Anyone see issues with this topology without the physical connection that was suggested?   ... I used to say that Meraki was making me stupid. It was a joke and of course meant as no insult to this company who has afforded me the opportunity to truly work anywhere in the world. Not only that, but the stupidity that I was achieving (point and click networking with smarthands that don't have to be smart)has actually increased my level of networking expertise. Too many times in this industry have I run across those who say they are Network Gods. I have even been guilty of this mentality a time or two. The truth is with the Meraki Dashboard, network admins can learn more than the knowledge they lose from CLI interfaces and console adapters and spending your entire day in a freezing Network room deprived of coffee. Rather than focusing on learning the proper CLI commands, we can spend our time exploring networks and how to improve them. Tool tips are awesome, providing explanations on the outcome of what happens after the click. Just want to say thanks Meraki for making me SIMPLY smarter. ... View more

I encountered a unique situation where someone set up all stack switches in different physical locations but one dashboard network. Each stack had a 2 L3 interfaces. We wanted to segment the switches in the dashboard to individual networks. However you cannot move a switch stack from one network to another. I have 2 stacked MS425s . I have a stack of 6 MS225s connected to port 5 on each MS425. The MS425s are new. The MS225s have been deployed for 8 months. Initially Port 5 on the first MS425 showed a high rate of CRC errors. We replaced all fiber jumpers and SPFs. Still CRC errors. We moved the fiber. Errors cleared on the first MS425 . YAY!!! Now they appear on the second MS425 . Has anyone seen this? We are out of options. The error follows if I change ports.  ... View more
