Clear your current VPP token and complete the following steps: https://documentation.meraki.com/SM/Apps_and_Software/Using_Apple’s_Volume_Purchase_Program_(VPP)_with_Systems_Manager After competing the above, force sync again. I haven’t had any issues with VPP so it has to be an issue with your setup.

As @Melissa showed, setting the Meraki MDM app to auto-install will re-install it silently of the user deleted it.

I will definitely take a look! In regards to the WiFi profile, I agree - I usually push profiles separately to devices and don't combine them into a "mega" like profile. This always makes it easier to exclude a device from the scope. The only way (easily) I could think of fixing that problem where the WiFi profile comes after is to push them as a pair inside one profile. The other option would be to use a policy that sees if the Systems Manager app is installed and then trigger it to install when the device is compliant with that (the systems manager app always deploys after the profiles).

I am using Cisco Umbrella/OpenDNS to filter for spam. VPNs were the problem for me and the solution was just to do a wildcard search with email notifications when they become a member of the policy. There is no restriction that I know of that can disable that little "i" button next to the network. In regards to WiFi whitelisting, I gave your scenario a test with the WiFi Whitelisting and my WiFi profile (both configured and scoped separately to the same device) got pushed before the whitelisting. Obviously, there are factors that play into this like network speed, servers, etc. But are you configuring that restriction within your WiFi Profile to make sure they are being pushed together?

Have you verified that the VPP token is set up properly - I recommend redoing the process to confirm? Once the device is added in VPP go to Apps and add it as a managed app and check the option to install with VPP codes.

Hi Folks, I hope all is well! I am looking for some advice on binding JumpCloud LDAP to Meraki Systems Manager: The problem I have is that you cannot just map to JumpCloud. This is how it is done on Jamf and I have been trying to replicate with Meraki: https://jumpcloud.com/engineering-blog/integrating-jamf-softwares-lamf-cloud-with-ldap/ Meraki is making me define a gateway. I use three inch for the main feed to the pole. I then use 1.5 inch orange flex for indoor runs that are through floors and ceilings. Jared

Exactly. I put a note out to specifically not upgrade to iOS 11 and that I would push the update. I created a policy that looks for any devices that are upgraded to iOS 11 and locked them down with a configuration profile.

That is a very tough situation. A policy with email alerts would be helpful. Maybe you could send them to administration at each of the locations so they know the tablets are not communicating with Meraki and trigger that WiFi back on.

This is an Apple limitation. Have you tried setting up a policy that requires devices to check in once a day? Have it alert you with an email notification.

The only mention of default network I see is under Organization > MDM (under the configure heading), but it is in reference to DEP.

What I first did was put something introductory in our original Self Service portal - like a printer and it taught them quite well on how to use it.

I completely understand @BlakeRichardson. When I first deployed Macs we had something similar to this created for my organization. It was literally a website that would just install the packages to Downloads and our users (who are admins of their machines) would install it. I make help guides available and our Self Service model seems to be working. This is just a change in UI - they had to log in with LDAP credentials the same as they do with SSP.

Hi Folks, I have decided to move away from my traditional methods of installing software and our Meraki on our machines to something similar to my iPad deployment. We are going to use DEP and hand over Macbooks sealed in boxes. The user just has to create a local account and Meraki will take over the rest. In synopsis, I am now letting users decide what they want on their machines and the arrival of SSP now being integrated within Meraki is great. (Great timing as Apple is killing off Netboot lol) I threw together this Apple Script that directs users to our SSP. I saved it as a .app and changed the app icon using a process outlined here. After adding it to my applications folder I created a .pkg file (I use Composer - but there are several free options out there!). Uploaded and pushed it to our laptops. # Script to open the Meraki Self Service Portal (SSP) in Safari for users. It is recomended that this should be saved as a .app and installed with Meraki via a .pkg. tell application "Safari" open location "https://mp.meraki.com/ssp/login?pcc_enrollment_code=INSERT-ENROLLMENT-CODE-WITH-DASHES" activate end tellNSS I am using the beta program for software deployment. Software deployment has been much better and more reliable than in the past. I am sure it will be rolled out soon! ~Jared
