How do your DCs communicate? Layer 3 or layer 2? If it is layer 2 adjacent then you can use a much simpler setup.

@route_map you certainly can and I have this working in my home lab just fine, the MV detects human motion, triggers an alert and sends a snapshot from the camera via a Webex Teams chatbot. Here's a self-paced guided lab to get it going! cs.co/adventure

Hi @route_map! Let me try to answer at least a few of your questions. Guess the guys who are more into Systems Manager will chime in later. 1. Yes, that‘s what Sentry is being used for https://documentation.meraki.com/SM/Deployment_Guides/Systems_Manager_Sentry_Overview 2. Yes, e.g. by using Policies https://documentation.meraki.com/SM/Profiles_and_Settings/Configuration_Profiles 3. Yes (depending on the type of device / enrollment) https://documentation.meraki.com/SM/Monitoring_and_Reporting/Selective_Wipe_and_Device_Quarantine_in_Systems_Manager 4. I don‘t quite understand 5. See Sentry 6. See 3. 7. You can push certificates https://documentation.meraki.com/SM/Profiles_and_Settings/Certificates_Payload_(Pushing_Certificates) 8. RBAC from a management perspective? 9. Yes, see 2. and https://documentation.meraki.com/SM/Apps_and_Software 10. I don‘t have an answer for that question 11. Yes https://documentation.meraki.com/SM/Tags_and_Policies/Geofencing_with_Managed_Devices 12. I don‘t have an answer for that question 13. Yes, via Geofencing and Policy (see 11. as a start) Hope that helps. You‘ll find additional (high level) information in the data sheet: https://meraki.cisco.com/lib/pdf/meraki_datasheet_sm.pdf

@Stuggi wrote: I've been quite behaved recently, but in my younger days I had a bit of a hobby of reading the newspaper and seeing if I could find anything that could be used as material for WiFi naming. Say evil mega-corporation was in the papers, I'd add an SSID "EvilMegaCorp Guest" or something. It usually took around 3 days before my neighbours in the apartment complex started talking about how EvilMegaCorp had plans for opening an office in the neighbourhood. Haha that's awesome! I actually recently created a new SSID: It basically translates to "#StayAtHome😷"

To get the alerts, make sure that under Network-wide/Alerts that both Malware is blocked and Malware is downloaded are checked, and that there is a valid email address in Default recipients

Did you already set up your network within Umbrella? Or are you talking about clicking on the pencil icon and changing your DNS to the publicly known OpenDNS IP Addresses? Here are some guides for you: https://umbrella.cisco.com/meraki https://documentation.meraki.com/MR/Other_Topics/Manually_Integrating_Cisco_Umbrella_with_Meraki_Networks

Regarding your questions: > Support traffice filtering by IP host add/range and deep packet inspection at wire speed? DPI is not possible at Wire Speed. But that's the case for every other firewall out there. Please find throughput figures here: https://meraki.cisco.com/products/appliances/#models > Manageable via SNMPv3, supports snmp trap messages Management is done completely cloud-based (via Dashboard), you could also leverage the API for that. SNMPv3 could be used for monitoring puposes though: https://documentation.meraki.com/zGeneral_Administration/Monitoring_and_Reporting/SNMP_Overview_and_Configuration > Support 802.1q Yes, but you'll have to activate VLANs first: https://documentation.meraki.com/MX/Networks_and_Routing/Configuring_VLANs_on_the_MX_Security_Appliance > The firewall shall support syslog protocol for reporting events? Yes, not only Syslog: https://documentation.meraki.com/zGeneral_Administration/Monitoring_and_Reporting/Meraki_Device_Reporting_-_Syslog%2C_SNMP_and_API https://documentation.meraki.com/zGeneral_Administration/Monitoring_and_Reporting/Syslog_Server_Overview_and_Configuration > Continue to log events while under attack (DOS, DDOS, etc) As long as the box is up and running it will produce logs. Perhaps Meraki could elaborate further on that. > THe FW should support DNS functionality for local host that resolves uo to a public DNS What exactly do you mean? MX itself won't be able to do that but could leverage Cisco Umbrella to add DNS layer enforcement.

We've got clients using Meraki for p2p bridges and we've got clients using UBNT. The UBNT ones are just rock solid, and vlans! Who doesn't love multiple vlans? I love multiple vlans. I did not love having to explain to a client why he couldn't have his guest network in the remote building, because it was on a different vlan from prod.

The OSPF implementation is odd, and works a bit differently on MXes than it does on L3 switches if I recall correctly. I do know people who are using it though. Firewall: https://documentation.meraki.com/MX/Site-to-site_VPN/Using_OSPF_to_Advertise_Remote_VPN_Subnets Switches: https://documentation.meraki.com/MS/Layer_3_Switching/MS_Layer_3_Switching_and_Routing Meraki is not CIsco enough to support EIGRP. I don't see how K value tinkering fits into the general design thinking behind Meraki kit, honestly. Where's that going to go on the dashboard? I wouldn't expect IS-IS either. If you have basic questions, I usually go to the document base and pop the basic keyword into the search bar. That's all I did here, besides make jokes about EIGRP.
