Wi-Fi 5 Wave 2 MRs support - This version and subsequent MR 31.x.x are only supported on 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) and newer MR models. 802.11ac Wave 2 and older products will upgrade to the backup version (MR 30.7.1) if they are in networks configured for MR 31.x.x versions, and thus, the new features will not be available. The bug fixes listed below will also not apply to Wi-Fi 5 Wave 2 and older MRs. (https://documentation.meraki.com/MR/Other_Topics/Cisco_Meraki_MR_Firmware_Restrictions_Overview_and_...)
Bug fixes
General stability and performance improvements
False positive DFS alerts in Japan on MR56 APs
APs stop transmitting on wired interfaces (Wi-Fi 6 APs)
I have seen the same in two different deployments running 31.1.7. Splash page issues using Clearpass, as well as the built in splash page. Is this a known issue?
Been having issues with some legacy scan gun devices on a PSK network. Lots of DHCP issues and association issues. Rolling back to 30.7.1 seemed to resolve.
Hi...I just want to make sure I understand the implications of the above correctly. Does this mean that if I have MR42 and MR53 APs in my environment, they cannot be upgraded to MR 31.x.x?
And is it fair to say the last possible firmware version available to MR42 and MR53 will be MR 30.7.1?
But if i am right the access points are still showing the current firmware? For example i have some networks with MR52 and MR42 and there the current firmware is MR 31.1.6 according to the information panel on the left side. But in truth it stays on MR 30.7.1?
@r2kat yes that's right, it will show the latest firmware that you have chosen, but will actually be running the linked legacy firmware (currently 30.7.1).
