My AP 9166 was fine on MR 30.7.1. But, when I upgraded the AP to MR 31.1.5.1, it is showing down in Dashboard. Do we need to have additional exceptions in our web proxy ?

I have a site that has a combination of MR42 and MR86 AP's. Per the release documentation MR42's are on the list of SKUs that will be restricted to MR 30.x and will only be upgraded to their latest support version of MR 30.x. Post upgrade the MR42's are showing a firmware version of MR 31.1.5.1? Should I expect issues with these devices?

So for MR42, to get to 30.7.1, support says you need to upgrade to 31.1.5.1. But unlike previous releases with a backup version for older devices, after upgrade the dashboard will show 31.1.5.1, which is incorrect. And you need to contact support to figure out what version you are actually on. And unlike previous versions, the release notes do not mention that a backup version will be deployed for older devices.
Not good.

Are you referring to the Firmware-Upgrade page? That is only the destination firmware for the network. You see the real running firmware on the Access Points -> List view or on the AP details view:

The firmware page is also showing MR 31.1.5.1 for the MR42's.

+1
I don't understand why they are not attaching a build version to the APs that do not support MR 31.X

Because it Is all fakery and forced obsolescence by some ne'er-do-well desk jockey rather then supporting perfectly fine Wave 2 APs that are more than capable of supporting the firmware. Not enough memory or cpu you say? Bullspit is bullspit, dont lie to my face and call it grape soda. Show me a single data sheet that CM has that reveals CPU or memory of anything.

Going forward with r31-1-6 they will have a build provided - we needed to hold off due to some limitations with the backup version functionality.

After upgrading to 31.1.5.1, our GuestWifi SSID is no longer working with the splash page we are using. Had to rollback all of our MR 33 and MR 36 units firmware. I have an open case, and the engineers had mentioned other similar open cases, yet I'm not seeing anything on the forums. Anyone else see this?

Hi there - There is definitely something wrong with MR 31.1.5.1
We were running on version MR 29.XX and everything was fine. The Meraki APs all negotiated to either 1000 or 5000 Gbps depending on the Catalyst switch model. We held off upgrading to version MR 30.XXX because of 802.1x problems that Meraki Support confirmed. We upgraded straight to latest version MR 31.1.5.1 last month. Everything was running fine up until this past week. We then had multiple MR56s drop their Ethernet links to 100 Mbps with Degraded Status. Looking at the forums, we have power-cycled the switchports and also power-cycled the Catalyst switches. We have even shut down the APs for half-hour as suggested and powered them back up. 50% of the time, the APs would come back to 1000 or 5000. The rest of the APs stayed with 100 Degraded. We checked the cabling and there are not errors. Something from the latest firmware is definitely causing all these Ethernet speeds to be degraded.
