Wireless IP and Misconfigured DNS

Good Afternoon.

We are seeing an ongoing error on some of our APs. The error is telling us we have a misconfigures DNS but these APs have the same exact configuration as the rest of the APs. Any ideas on what could be the cause?

Thanks in Advance!

Ed

This usually indicates that your Meraki device isn't receiving responses to its DNS requests, preventing it from resolving dashboard URLs and other internet addresses.

Try using a different DNS server IP address to see if the issue persists.

Just out of curiosity, do you have a firewall that might be restricting something?

Hi @alemabrahao

Thanks for responding, we do have a Meraki MX between the APs and the Internet but all of our APs are on the same VLAN/Subnet and have open access out to the web.

Were you able to test with another DNS server?

I change them one one of our APs from Google to Cloudflare. Lets see how that does.

I would suggest using the tools tab under the AP's settings to ping Googles DNS and see if you get a response.

So yeah we are getting dropped packets on the couple I tested even with the Cloudflare DNS configured. These are all new cables runs, 38 total. What I am seeing as well is even though I have static LAN IPs on the APs the Summary tab shows it as DHCP and the DNS isn't updated.

**Updated**

Did a cable test on all the APs on 1 floor and all came back ok.
