Issue with Student wifi on certain locations

Hello

I hope get some guidenance on how we can resolve this issue. We have certain 2nd floor rooms that are having issues with Wifi connection named Student. The students can connect to it on there chromebooks but connection is slow and lagging. Meantime the smart boards and teacher devices if there connected to Main wifi is working fine. Some these rooms have actual AP inside of them as well

I submitted ticket to Meraki and they had be go into Radio settings and change Radio transmit power range (dBm) to 12 to 20 dbm and Minimum bitrate to 18 to 54 attach screen shot for that as well. This was ThScreenshot 2024-09-04 115652.png

We have 2 RF profiles for for indoor classes and both set same way for this and I also set outdoor AP to same settings

Attach below is screen shot of class today that was having issue signal strenght is between 46 to 68 for student connection

Trying to figure out what we can do about this because this issue happening start of this year when last year it was fine. Only change I made was I upgraded firmware to 30.7 over the weekend. Another thing like to add most of our AP are older MR18 while there few newer one we have about 6 of them are MR36. Could AP being old be the issue? Also per meraki support I turned off Client balancing option for RF profiles for all of them

I appreciate any info anyone can give me on what try. If you need more info like SSID setings for Student I can provide that as well.

It will not let me rollback says rollback unvailiable since past 14 days after upgrade

Going to contact support see if they can rollback to previous firmware see what happens.

We also have 15 SSID configuartion but only 4 are enabled while reset disabled

On 30.7 has problems related to customers with many ssid configs. But the problems described in release notes sound different then yours.

From the screenshots you have provided  it appears you are using Meraki DHCP with NAT mode. This can cause issues with roaming and other applications and is just needlessly NATing your traffic more than likely to the native vlan that the AP is set on. Each AP has to keep up with this independently from the others.  Also appears that you are using 40MHz wide 5Ghz channels only on a single AP. In your case with this many clients on a single AP/channel the name of the game is get them on and off the air as quickly as possible. I also saw no 2.4GHz clients at all. I would add/use 2.4 if you can to buy some time and another AP with a UNII 1  channel.

Your MR18 isn't going to do anything with the 30.7 firmware. it is  limited to MR 26.8.3 as its EOL and its official end of Support date came and went in March of 2024.

I see. We basically have 2 indoor profile first screen shot you saw was called Indoor Profile and we have another one called Classroom that has these settings up in as profile

Would this need to be changed ?
