Cloud Monitoring 9800M/H1/H2 support?

Good afternoon,

Curious if there is any word on cloud monitoring support for these newer 9800 WLCs? We're transitioning to them and would love to use the monitoring for wireless since Prime also does not support these newer models.

Thank you for the reply. I don't see anything in the sw release that hints it supports the models I listed. Same with your first link. "Cloud monitoring for CW9800 wireless controllers will be available in a future software release"

Meraki states that only certain 9800 models are supported at this time.  https://documentation.meraki.com/Cloud_Monitoring_for_Catalyst/Getting_Started/Cloud_Monitoring_for_...

Cloud Monitoring for Catalyst Wireless supports the following wireless controller models:

  • C9800-L-C

  • C9800-L-F

  • C9800-40

  • C9800-80

Sorry, did overread the "will be available in a future software release" and thought that it will be supported with the release mentioned in that other document.

Well, I guess it will not take to long for that

I appreciate it, was hoping I had overlooked something.

Hoping someone has heard whispers of any sort of roadmap while we go over other possible Prime replacement alternatives.

I'm curious, why would anyone still use a WLC?  I haven't deployed one in maybe 7 years now, and I just use the Meraki cloud controller.

What does the WLC do that the Meraki cloud controller does not do?

I would say capwap on large campuses. L3 roaming with Meraki is not the thing.

Don't WLCs offer additional configuration options when integrating with ISE? I presume there are other tuning and config options as well.
