Additional RMA Service Costs When Purchasing Equipment

This is probably an easy one but I'm having trouble correlating the information I've been able to find on this.

In being quoted for some Meraki gear, the partner has also included RMA ONLY NBD line items (Eg. CON-ROB-MR44HWRL) at extra cost.

If I'm not mistaken, Meraki gear already comes with NBD RMA as part of the license cost.

What extra service would this line item be providing and is it a requirement to purchase?

Hi @Brash , I believe whilst an active license entitles you to a hardware replacement this isn’t NBD.  The part code quoted is part of the advanced hardware replacement support. Which of course is optional.

Hi @Brash

Hope you have read the below document. This explains the need and options available under this program.

@DarrenOC Right, I think you're spot on.
I thought I'd read somewhere that the warranty provided by Meraki license was also NBD but it appears I was wrong.

Hi @AjitKumar

The document helps describe the difference between different service levels of Meraki Now.

However, from what I understand, there would be no advantage to purchasing Meraki Now (8x5 NBD HW Only) as this is already included with the Meraki license purchase.

Hi @Brash

I understand the default RMA is on the basis of "Best Effort" - There is no SLA attached to this. We may consider CON-ROB for critical deployments.

the last RMA we did on an MS390 that was DOA (would not power up after a beta firmware install for ETA /Stealthwatch) took 5 total days to receive that shipped by FedEX Overnight - that was a call on Friday night to support then shipped out to us on Tuesday...  our Sales Rep told us if you buy "Meraki Now" they allocate a specific number of that Hardware Model for RMA to that program vs Warranty RMA..  meaning if an item like MR56 is backordered for Warranty replacement - there is inventory for Meraki Now customers...  (we were looking at 8x5:NBD HW only)  this was only verbal - never saw it in writing
