High Ping

I am currently staying at a hotel that utilizes Cisco Meraki. Current ping/latency is 77ms. However, when I play a game (Rainbow 6) my ping/latency jumps to 250+.  Anyway to fix this? IPv6 is not enabled through the hotel. Or is there a way I can prioritize my computer over others?

They're most likely implementing traffic shaping on the guest network (pretty standard practice).

No, there's no 'way around it' without having administration access to the Meraki portal.

There is nothing you can do. Most guest wifi priority is open, hotels don't have an interest in your gaming.

You are probably better to mobile hotspot to be honest.

Gotcha, does me being on ethernet still mean that I am on the guest network?

If they've designed their network right, yes you will still be on the guest network

Comes here often

It is usually depends on 3 things –

The device’s connectivity,
The internet speed and
The server you use

But you can fix it, try the 5 fixes -

Close Other Network Hogging Applications
Check Your Internet Connection
Try Switching to a Better Server
