"Trusted" switch port config

Does anybody know what the "Trusted" setting does under switch port configuration?  I'm having trouble getting any of the ports on a MS410 to link to a Cisco router.  I have tried a lot of scenerios.  I'm wondering what that trusted port config setting is for.  I did not find anything in the Meraki documention on it.  Is it a new option?
