Uplinking non Meraki switches to an MX

We recently merged with another company and are preparing to move everyone into a new unified domain.  We have a temporary need to add a switch to a conference room in one of our sites to facilitate the build and configuration of 20 laptops at a time as we are deploying new equipment to our users.

We really do not want to purchase a new Meraki switch and license that will only be used for 2 months and are considering the purchase of a non managed 24 port switch for this purpose.  The site has 2 ISP's with the secondary set to be used only as failover and were also thinking we might just have all traffic form this switch use it.

What is the best way to accomplish this?

Personally I would buy a Meraki switch and then at least you have a spare in case of any issues, but if you want to use an unmanaged switch then connect it to an access port on a VLAN that you don't use for anything else and set that VLAN/subnet to use WAN 2 as priority.  In that case WAN 2 can still be used by other traffic if WAN 1 fails.

You can always link a non managed switch to an MX but make sure you don't use VLANs in that case and don't double downlink your MX or you will cause a loop.
