Switch firmware (MS12.33 & MS12.28.1)

Hello,

recently we upgraded our switches to MS 12.33 firmware as it was recommended (i believe) on the dashboard.

But we have since had a message appear on the dashboard advising a firmware upgrade is due however this appears to be downgrading to MS 12.28.1.

I had a quick google to try find the release notes and identify is theres an issue/bug known in MS 12.33 which is why the recommended is to downgrade it, can anyone confirm if this is the case of pin point the release notes for me.

Thanks,

DB

Hi @DBCK , the release notes are under your nose in the dashboard.

go to Org > Firmware Upgrades.

scroll down and you’ll see the release notes under the heading Latest Firmware Versions.

12.28.1 is the latest Stable release.

12.33 must be Beta for the switches you’re using

I've just checked on here and I see that my good friend @cmr  has previously provided the release notes for 12.33

Thanks for your response.

How can i find out why the dashboard offered me to upgrade to MS 12.33? Not really experienced any problems so should i really need to downgrade to the stable release if i haven't experienced any problems?

It just seems strange we have so many varients of releases and theres no structure to it? unless anybody can explain how there firmware versions work.

Hi @DBCK

Maybe this will shed some light on the various releases available to you:

https://documentation.meraki.com/Architectures_and_Best_Practices/Cisco_Meraki_Best_Practice_Design/...

You don’t have to downgrade if you don’t want to especially if you’re not experiencing any issues.  If, however you hit issues in the future support will recommend moving to the latest Stable release
