Switch clone vs Stacked switch replacement

I just read through this doc:

https://documentation.meraki.com/Architectures_and_Best_Practices/Cisco_Meraki_Best_Practice_Design/...

The subsection called Switch Replacement Walkthrough for Stacks mentioned actually screen shots and copy and paste.  That seems sort of old school if we have templates and profiles.  Then I read there is a switch clone button option. Other than a few things, that might need manual changes, wouldn't a clone with edits be better than using screen shots to change out a switch ?

I have yet to even touch a Meraki switch, so this is a less than novice question.

You shouldn't need to use anything else other than switch clone.  Used it many times without issue.

Then, why would Meraki put those steps in the Best Practices document ?
