Hey folks,
I have to choose some L3 switches and my first choice were MS210s which fit my need in term of pure hardware. However, I also have to do some routing (basically configure a default route to a router)
i.e ip route 0.0.0.0/0 router's ip (no need for NAT/policies etc...)
Since I have to configure some VLANs (3 or 4 max), inter-VLAN routing is need + this default route to direct traffic to router.
On MS210's description, it is stated that they are capable of "Layer 2 with static routes" but I am not really sure what does this mean...
Are these switches really capable of L3 routing? or is it only for management purpose?
Thanks.
Cheers.
Dardan.
Solved! Go to Solution.
The work, but are basic.
They are up to 16 svi and static routes.
So no dynamic routing protocol and It cant run dhcp server but only relay.
@Dardan : MS210 is a kind of L2 switch, Have a look on the datasheet
