Service Start date and manufacturing date

Hi,

I have a customer who do have main operation in US and Europe. They aquired a company from china and access to Meraki dashboard is missing today and cant be retrieved due lack of personel. They are planning to take a site visit to get all Meraki gear under HQ daskboard. Before they order anything, they would like to understand what is the service status and manufacturing date of 3 Meraki Switches. I do have serial numbers and models, but cant find a way to help my customer. Please advice.

Have you talked to your Meraki Rep? You can also try plugging the serials into CCW-R to check on manufacturing date but unless they have the uplifted support it's not going to show anything else. License status is only in the dashboard.

However if these devices are in another dashboard that no one has access to, you may be out of luck. That's going to require legal folks to MAYBE regain access.

Regardless I suggest talking to your Rep.

Contact Meraki support is likely your best option and might require proof of ownership - not sure how the acquired company details (legal aspect) play into that equation or if that it's therefore automatically considered a second hand device as such.

License are typically non-transferrable.

Meraki equipment in China has to use the Meraki China cloud, make sure they are aware of this!

Hi @HeikkiHautala,

Have you got any context as to why the manufacturing date is required? This isn't something that Support will be able to provide unfortunately, our hardware/logistics team may be able to provide this but will require valid business reason. You're better off using the order number information to backdate when the order was rasied & shipped - which whomever ordered the kit should have in their email inbox.

Note that Meraki equipment carries a lifetime warranty, or 1-3 years (product depending). https://documentation.meraki.com/General_Administration/Other_Topics/Returns_(RMAs)_Warranties_and_E...

This was just one side of the coin. Customer do have several offices that do not have any IT-personel on site. They want to install the most newest HW to these sites to avoid any additional travelling on site. Thats the original reason so just optimizing operations.
