Pretty sure the 150 was supposed to be called the 230 originally. This might just be a UI goof.

I had asked the product team why it wasn't called 230 and apparently there is an interesting reason.  It definitely is much more of a 230 than a 150, with the stacking ports and other more advanced features...

Update: Indeed turns out to be a UI goof - and it's been fixed in the dashboard (yay)!

Another kudos to @Ryan_Miles  👏 👏 👏

Hmm, I would wonder why Meraki is still putting effort in their own lines while the Catalysts are the way to go.  I can understand the basic models for price averse customers, and in that regards the MS150 fulfills the classic usecases without the advanced features.  The MS150 literally has all the features the old MS210/225 have.

I would like to push for them to fully support the Catalyst line from 9200 up to 9600 and allow fully managed switches to also get FULL CLI access even when features are not yet available on dashboard as a GUI.

@GIdenJoe whilst I agree with you in principle, I really don't want to end up with it being like the Juniper cloud where it goes out of sync with almost any change you make on the CLI...

That of course is the challenge.

However as long as your tunnel remains up why would you get out of sync issues exactly.

I mean we have flexconfig on FTD devices.  That is a mixture of CLI for not yet GUI supported features.  So it is possible.

Indeed, but with the Juniper cloud about 1/3 of CLI operations do sync, whereas the rest mean you have to reimport that part of the config, swap over the assignment and delete the out of sync part.  I'd rather just have CLI for options that cannot be configured by the cloud GUI or API.

That is exactly how they do it on the FTD.  They blacklist certain config CLI's or gate it by forcing you to use smart CLI or flexconfig objects so you can't goof up or make something incompatible.

It's definitely worth a look at to support this and then bit by bit get full feature parity inside dashboard for advanced features or have most support and keep some advanced config templates (like in Catalyst center) that you can push.

It's possible the MS150 was in the works at the same time as the strategy of Catalyst switches in Meraki dashboard and rather than scrapping the project they continued it to fruition.

I feel it's likely we'll see less and less of the MS line over the next 5-10 years assuming successful onboarding of the full Catalyst 9K lineup along with more integrated features.

^ This is purely based on vibes.

I have been by Cisco folks that this is exactly what happened.
