MS450 Stack Ports accept 100G Tranceivers

If I have (2) MS450's, greater than 3M apart, can I use 100G transceivers in the Stack ports to still be able to stack the 450's?

Is it supported? - No

Will it work? - Maybe. There's conflicting Reddit threads about people trying this. Some say it works and some don't.

You can purchase the transceivers and give it a go but support won't be able to assist you if you encounter issues... Not worth it in my opinion.

Edited: It's probably will not work.

But I think the largest cable available is from 3M.

There are third party cables up to 5m in length that might work and are cheaper to test, such as: https://www.fs.com/products/50483.html

If it’s not supported I wouldn’t do it.

I was also wondering if this works. I am looking into buying two MS450 and use them in a stack stretched across two server rooms for redundancy.

With the front plane stacking I expect it to work like the Catalyst 9500 virtual stacking and I think I've seen that setup working at one of my former customer sites. (But don't quote me on that)

Maybe open a case with Meraki and ask if this is something that works and is supported? The stacking cables are just QSFP cables so I don't see why a fiber module shouldn't work.

I'm using these:

it is 40Gbit since its on my MS425-32, but never had issues with them.

Do you mean the front 100G ports?  These are for uplinks only, the 450's don't support Flexible Stacking so I would have to use the back Stacking ports and I'm just wondering if 100G QSFP's would work in place of the Stacking Cables.

Oh I think I mistook the 450 for the 425 sorry! But because Meraki uses standard QSFP DACs I think it should work. It won't be supported though.
