Implementing VLANs
Hi There,
I have a quick newbie question.
Our LAN is currently a single (massive) ip range and I'm breaking this down into different (v)LANs to improve monitoring and management.
While I clean up the LAN and move various pieces of equipment into roughly the segment they'll be in once we've moved, I thought I would double check something.
Is it possible to install VLANs so that they're ready to go prior to applying them to interfaces? We're using MS250-48 switches.
There's a fair amount of work to do before we switch routing so I am trying to figure out how to phase the work.
Solved! Go to solution.

you can create the svi's and attach the subnets before apllying them to the Access port.

Cool. I don't want any issues with broken switching before I roll out the actual VLANs.
