Hi
recently we bought MS 425 Switch. Is it possible to use an unbranded 10G SFP in Meraki Switch (Especially SFP module from FS.COM)?. If that works, what about the Meraki warranty? is it allowed to use it officially?. please advise
Thanks

@Rajni : yes if they are compatible with the Meraki, you can use the third party SFP. Can you share the part code number of third party SFP ?

Cisco Meraki MA-SFP-10GB-SR Compatible, 10GBASE-SR SFP+ 850nm 300m DOM LC MMF Transceiver Module (39380)
3m (10ft) Cisco QSFP-H40G-CU3M Compatible 40G QSFP+ Passive Direct Attach Copper Cable (30897)
from FS.com
Shall I proceed to buy? thanks
@Rajni : MA-SFP-10GB-SR is a Meraki Module

QSFP-H40G-CU3M= : Yes it will work as well but dont have any document to prove that 🙂
@Rajni Yes you can use 3rd party SFP modules with Meraki equipment however if you are having technical issues Meraki will not provide support if they think the SFP module is causing the issue.
@Rajni : That is correct, Meraki support will not available in case you have Third Party SFP's issue. Take this in consideration before you buy the Third Party SFP's.
Good Luck !
We have used optics from fs.com with very good luck. In Catalyst, Meraki, Brocade, and a few others. We always buy one set of Cisco branded optics we can use if necessary to rule out an optic issue if problems arise and for Merki support if we need it. Otherwise save yourself some money. As much as I like Cisco these branded optics sold at insane markups are like the old factory floormats in cars. The same company in China makes them all, the only difference is the label on them and some firmware code.
