Access Manager - license cost?

Access Manager - license cost?

I am securing our network ports across our network, after navigating through the portal and testing, testing, testing...I came up with a solid working solution and locked down a number of our ports.

then Cisco pulled the rug from underneath us, as on the portal now states access manager is about to go from early access to GA, and if  you dont order licenses you will lose your config.  that is fine...I just need a rough idea on what these costs will be?  is the cost per switch?  just need some help to understand this cost to plan for budgets.

does anyone have any news on this licensing??

The latest guidance I've received is expect a tiered per seat license.

Advanced licenses would not be required but may help with the cost.

Regardless anything pre-release like this, only your Partner/Cisco AM will be able to provide any firm info (if they even can)

Advanced Licensing will be required to continue using Access Manager after GA. This applies to both MR and MS.

Switch licenses typically range from $150 to $500 per year per device, depending on the tier and duration.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

I can't quite say anything more, but that was February and what I heard was much more recent but still not official.

That's changed since that post many months ago. It's no longer planned to be bound to MR or MS ADV licenses.

Yeah I thought so.  I see they have changed that document.
Lucky.  Because requiring advanced licensing AND per seat licensing was going to be a disaster to position this to customers.

I would have liked however that they would still have kept the no seat licensing required with advantage licensing since that would have truly pushed the value of advantage.  Only having adaptive policy and two other niche features is not really an incentive to get advantage imho.

We don't know what the Access Manager licences will cost or how they will be licensed yet.  The current plan is for it to go GA in November 2025.

What has been discussed is that you will need the premium product licencing option in each family that you want to use it.  This could change.

MR Advanced/Advantage:

MS Advanced/Advantage:

MX Secure SD-WAN Plus:

It might also be possible that these premium product family licences are only needed if you want to use Adaptive Policy.

Since it can do less than ISE I would assume those per seat licensing would also cost less? 😜
I'm looking in the direction of the ISE essentials licensing as a guideline.
