Removing back plate (mounting hardware)

I had a contractor remove cameras from a building that is being torn down and rebuilt. Normally the back plate will pop off but in this instance, it feels stuck. Does anyone have any ideas on removing the backplate so I can reuse this camera? It is an MV 12W.

Thanks for the diagram. I feel like its caught on something because it will not move at all. I want to contact the contractor that removed it from the wall.

I've seen a few different models in which the mount plate was really hard to move. But I've always gotten them off with some simple tools and patience. I've used a flat tip screwdriver to apply some force here and had luck. And be safe. Don't stab your palm...not that I ever did that.

I have been trying that and it will not move. Not sure which direction to go. I have never had one to behave like this. Still working on it.

To remove/unlock it would be in the direction the green arrow is pointing. You may need to have someone hold the camera body (or find some other nondestructive way to hold the camera in place) and tap the lip of the plate where the arrow is pointing with a flat tip screwdriver and a hammer.

I am trying all the solutions and nothing seems to work. Feels like it is super-glued. I am still working on it. Perseverance.
