Camera generates too many notifications

Hello Meraki Camera Users,

does anyone have any idea how to restrict the notification of a camera?
When someone is in the picture, notifications are sent every second, which is actually completely unnecessary.
Is it possible to limit this? so that there is a pause of 5 minutes after a notification, for example?

The problem mostly occurs when monitoring IT infrastructure when technicians are on site.

Getting noticed

The Motion sensitivity and Minimum event duration for trigger sliders can be used to minimize the alerts that are generated due to trivial motion. When these values are set, a rough estimate of the number of alerts that will be generated per day can be seen from the bar chart as shown below. For example, decreasing the Motion Sensitivity from 100% to 56% would reduce the number of alerts that would be generated per day from 168 alerts to 21 alerts.

I have MV13's in comms rooms and as you say they used to generate a large amount of alerts when people were working in the comms rooms.

What I have done now is disable motion alerts on these cameras and install an MT20 on the comms room door.  That sensor is linked to the MV13.

Now, we only get alerts when the door is opened/closed and the email includes a hyperlink to the camera so you can quickly see who went in if you need to.

This is dramitcally reduced the number of email alerts we were getting.

I also found the MT20 door sensor a much better option and then simply assign a camera to that sensor.
