Automatic License Plate Recognition with MV models

regarding car Automatic License Plate Recognition (LPR, ANPR, ALPR) for outdoor deployments.

- Is any objective lens heater ( for minus celsius degrees ) installed in MV outdoor models ? If not, what accessory should be ordered and installed ?

- which tools / software is needed for automatic recognition and processing of license plate data ? Any recommendations ?

Depending on the model. You have to look at the data sheet. For example

I never used lpr but there are some options at the market place

Right now, the only camera model that is supported for native LPR is the MV53X and it has a built-in heater.

Here's the link to more information on the feature:

All of the cameras that support vehicle detection can be used for LPR.

The camera detects a vehicle and then sends a message to the LPR system.  That LPR system extracts a still of the vehicle and then reads the number plate from that still.

Yes, but the MV53X specifically includes a new native MQTT LPR feature as @jbright linked to above.

I've done LPR using plate recognizer with various gen3 MVs and it worked pretty well. A lot of it comes down to how the camera is mounted and the lighting conditions. It's very easy to get too much blur, glare, etc. and then LPR won't perform well.

I didn't know that.  Good too know!

In MV73 Series Datasheet - Cisco Meraki Documentation there is "Heatering ...".
But for MV53X documents, I cannot find any hint or information for a MV53X heater.
