Switching Lights on and off with PoE switch port and MT30 button

Hi all

I am busy developing a product where I pull power from the PoE port of a switch and then convert it to 12V DC with a light on the other end.

I then want to use the MT30 button to switch the lights on and off by switching the particular port on and off.

Would you be interested in something like this?

I think its especially useful for remote areas where there are high sites and containers and you need light.

Depending on the Wattage of the port you can easily put 3 or 4  5Watt LEDs on one port

Cheers

Hi @KingArthur!

There definitely seems to be a valid use case for these types of lighting systems, especially as they can benefit from all the positive aspects provided by PoE power delivery. There is an interesting post on the Cisco site which discusses these points too: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/solutions/enterprise-networks/what-is-poe-lighting.html
