VPN L2TP

We are getting lot of L2tp VPN issue in Meraki. We configured L2tp VPN in Windows machine. Every month we are getting issue.

"The network connetion between you computr and the VPN server couldnot be established because the remote server is not responding."

Still we are not getting stable solution.

I suggest you to use the Anyconnect, it's more stable and has more features l.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Please, if this post was useful, leave your kudos and mark it as solved.

Hey VPNL2TP,

What version of windows are your endpoints running? I agree with @alemabrahao that you should eventually move to Anyconnect. Windows updates seem to break the windows built-in VPN client frequently.

I'd had success with editing the IPSEC registry subkey by adding the "AssumeUDPEncapsulationContextOnSendRule" DWORD and setting it to 2.

Below is the link to the Microsoft Documentation that describes this process:

Windows VPN client sucks at the best of times.
