Hi Team
I am sure this has been asked already
But i am being pressured to come up with a Meraki solution to track all our users who will be working from home, First issue they dont need to vpn back to the office as all resources are cloud based like 0365, sales force etc
any ideas
Meraki MDM? Could deploy Umbrella for endpoint visibility.
The Umbrella Roaming Agent is actually a good idea. It lets you look at every DNS request a machine is making. Nearly everything is DNS based. So it would give a good break down of what everyone is accessing.
But still a bit of a chore to go through every individual user. I guess you could write a script to use the API to summarise activity on a per user basis.
Buy every user a Meraki device?
I guess we need more information on the network in use here? Are end users vpning back to the corp network? If so what’s the solution in situ? If most of the work is done in the cloud then split tunnel the vpn to take the load of the concentrator.
You may also be aware that Cisco are doing 90 day trials of both DUO and Umbrella so there’s no cost there for yourselves to use during these surreal times
I've got a good idea. I just implemented Duo for a customer. Office 365 can use Duo for MFA.
Duo provides excellent tracking of when users authenticate to services.
the first option was to buy everyone a Z3 but this are out of stock
User span accros Africa and forcing them to install the Umbrella roaming client will be a mission, but this is an idea but wont be easy tracking user activity.
Meraki MDM? does it give u what time the user logged in and what they did? this could be an option and enroll every user device.
DUO is only available in 3 countries in Africa
MDM shows when the client is online so could work for you. If you really want to be sneaky you can remote into the users machines to see what they’re up to. Will also give you the geographic location
As the trackees are using Cloud based applications - track them using Cloud management tools.

Mx64 are still in stock.
