OTV

Hi guys

Can an OTV tunnel use Meraki SD-WAN as it's transport/underlay network?

If it will successfully work are there any gotchas, I'm thinking MTU will be one.

Thanks

Sledge

As OTV uses GRE, then the main limitation is that you must not have the MXs performing any network address translation.  As the AutoVPN doesn't usually perform NAT then it may be possible...  The underlying NAT can be disabled on the MXs, but is usually needed by most implementations.

The recommended MTU to prevent fragmentation on OTV is 1542, do you know what the maximum MTU Meraki supports on the MX devices LAN and WAN interfaces?
