We just implemented NAT-HA with a pair of MX84s connected to a Pair of MS-220-48LPs. now the primary MX reboots “randomly”. The problem seems to be related to STP however we are not seeing any ports switch from forwarding. We have tried a few connection typologies with the same result.
The most stable connection is when both MXs are patched into only one switch (2 patch cables used total) but we still see a reboot once or twice a day. It will continuously reboot if we connect both to both (4 cables) or if we add a connection from the primary to the spare (3 or 5 cables)
All ports are set to Trunk/all
only the 2 switches and 2 MXs in the network (the network is much larger but for testing we disconnected the rest of the network)
Does anyone have a connection topology to provide a redundant connection?
