MX68CW-WW port 1 and 2 LAN settings

Hello everyone.

I have an MX68CW-WW that I need to connect to an ONT (Telekom fiber modem) with an Ethernet cable.

Telekom uses VLAN 7 for internet access.
How can I tag port 1 on the MX to VLAN 7?

If I go to "Addressing & VLANs" page I can do only for ports 3 and next ones.

If it's not possibile, do you think it will work anyway without tagging VLAN 7?

Thank you in advance for your help

Could be that you have to use PPPoE for telekom

I found this online but im sure that applies in your case

"PPPoE on VLAN 7 with username and password"

Hi @GoOn,

You can configure VLAN tagging on Internet ports either from the Local Status Page, or from the dashboard Security & SD-WAN > Monitor > Appliance status > Uplink > VLAN ID. It is not a requirement to use PPPoE to be able to configure VLAN tagging on uplink.

On Addressing & VLANs you can only configure VLAN IDs for LAN ports.

Thank you very much to you both!

I never paid attention to that field!

Could I ask another thing?

It seems that MTU required is 1492, so I suppose I have to lower the standard 1500. Could you please confirm that this change has to be done calling Meraki support, it's not possible by the cloud nor the mx interface?

If you configure pppoe setting on the port it automatic applies mtu 1492.

In any other case for lowering mtu you have to contact Meraki support
