MX Slave become Master and return backup in second

Hi All,

we have some strange issue on this customer:

I received tehe Failover event via mail where Meraki Detect a failover event.

Checking the event logs I see:

But i don't understand why the slave become master and after 2 sec go back to be Slave again.

There is a way to check more detailed logs about it?

Thanks all

Fabio

The device didn't receive vrrp packets from the the master. So it moved to active. Then it starts receiving vrrp packets again and moves to backup.

Master Down Timer:

Time the backup router waits for the IP address owner router advertisements before assuming the role of IP address owner router.

Looks like the layer2 connection between the devices is not stable

Thank you! I'll try to investigate that.
Unfortunately we got this customer with their L2 network but we are moving to Cisco Core Switch in the next months.

Cheers

I've seen this issue with firmware bugs as well.  Make sure you are on current stable or better firmware.
