MX Notification on secondary internet link goes down

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this community.

My company is building a managed service based on the building meraki dashboard monitoring/alerting features.

After reading the docos, it seems that the alert only supports "The primary uplink status changes".

How do can the system alert me if the secondary/standby link goes down?

Regards

Richard

Alas there is no loss for detecting WAN2 failure.

Your would need to use an script and call an API like:

https://dashboard.meraki.com/api_docs#return-the-uplink-loss-and-latency-for-every-mx-in-the-organiz...

If loss is 100% you can consider it down.

Hi Richard

I understand this shall not be possible.

However check the following thread.

https://community.meraki.com/t5/Security-SD-WAN/Monitoring-converted-WAN-2-port/m-p/9901#M2442

WANkiller has Suggested a work around. Not sure if you will be interested though.

As this is to be part of a managed services offering, you won't mind diving into the API. Cisco DEVNET hosts the  Meraki Developer Hub, you will find it helpful.
