Does the MX line respond to BootP requests? While we frequently think this is the same as DHCP, it is an earlier protocol. I believe DHCP still relies on bootp for some functions.
I ask because I came across some devices that while new seem to be stuck in the 80s and only support bootp. MX didn't respond to the request.
Hi @ScottChester , have you enabled boot options in your DHCP scope? We have this enabled and working across a number of sites as per the below setup.
I was wondering about turning that on, but do not have it enabled currently. I don't need to provide server or file name, but I can see if it makes a change just turning it on.
Let us know how you get on @ScottChester
I tried adding random info to the boot server and filename fields, but bootp still didn't seem to work. I also tried adding a DHCP server on MS with the extra fields and no change. It may just be the random 10 meg half duplex devices that don't really work right.
I dont see any issue in my environment ...
