MX-68 Dashboard Accessing Issue.

I am accessing my MX-68 device on my dashboard when connecting with a  internet cable successfully in appliance status and assign VLAN to ports e.t.c.

But when i want to show demo to my client in his environment where he assign me static IP bind with my device MAC address, there my device is not accessible on dashboard as the still orange light is appear. But if the internet cable that i used for internet to device is attached to my PC i go through internet which shows no firewall deny my traffic.

Basically my devices can not go online to access them on dashboard.  Kindly let me know what and why this is so?

You would have to check the local status page to see what is reporting is wrong.

https://documentation.meraki.com/General_Administration/Tools_and_Troubleshooting/Using_the_Cisco_Me...

Most likely there is an issue with the IP config (could be IP address, subnet mask, default gateway or DNS).  Another possibility is that whatever the Meraki device is sitting behind is blocking its communication.

Hi @MXBEGINNER, nothing worse than a demo going south!

Maybe look at d-cloud from Cisco where you can demo Meraki and Cisco products without having to carry eqpt to site.

Or, maybe install a cellular dongle into the MX so you’re not reliant on the customer having to open up their firewall.

Thanks UCcert for your concern.

But client need demo according to his running environment using his internet. so that if he want to deploy Meraki in his network he is able to access it.

Hi @MXBEGINNER , aha, so this is a trial.

As @Bruce mentions the upstream firewall is blocking the MX from registering out to the cloud.

Log into your dashboard.  Top right hand corner select Help, There should be an option for firewall ports.  Pass this over to your client as he’ll need to punch holes into this firewall.

As @DarrenOC suggested I'd look at dCloud, or if you want to use a physical device with the customer look at using your own internet connection. Another option, as opposed to a USB cellular modem, that I've used before (admittedly it was primarily for Webex Calling, but don't see why it wouldn't work with a MX, but try it first) is to tether my laptop to my cell phone, then share that internet connection using the wired port on the laptop (I have a few Cisco phones set up on a Meraki MS220-8P this way). Means you connect to the WAN port on the MX which is a bit more 'normal'.

As PhilipDAth suggested, check the local status page to check the connectivity. You can also try resetting the device to factory settings.
