HA deployment with a single dhcp address from provider

I'm looking at HA deployment options and have a couple of questions.  In the HA documentation it says you can do HA with a single address. Is that a single address shared between the primary and secondary for wan 1 or do the primary and secondary MX each need a single address for wan 1, so 2 ip addresses for total from the provider for wan 1.

Can the address or addresses be dhcp addresses or do they have to be static addresses from the provider for the wan interfaces?

Use MX uplink IPs: When using this option, the current active MX will use its distinct uplink IP or IPs when sending traffic out to the internet. This option does not require additional public IPs for internet-facing MXs, but also results in more disruptive failover because the source IP of outbound flows will change.

If you want use public ip addresses you need at least  2.  For mx1wan1 and mx2 wan1.

If you want to use a WAN-VIP address ( This ip is only active on the active mx) you need 1 more public IP (3x IP)

If you can only get 1 Public IP from the provider you could use a NAT router between provider and mx,  and use private range addresses on the MX

Wan ip can be set static or from dhcp
